My condo pool will be open until Thursday, September 15 ! I am having a 'devil of a time' (I got that phrase from Professor Steve) trying to find a relatively inexpensive replacement for my new fav workout - treading water.
My gym closed about a month ago. (Yes, due to their policies and how I was forced to pre-pay my last month - I can technically go to one of their other gyms until mid-November.) Old gym had a pool - nothing great but at least I could tread.
Here, I have finally found a workout I like, I don't sweat, it's easy on the ol' joints, etc. and I'm going to be booted from it in a few more days ...

I love, love, love the pool! You can burn a lot of calories in a little time. Too bad our pool closed after Labor Day! Swim for me!
ReplyDeleteGood luck. I love to swim!
ReplyDeleteI hope you find some place to tread. If not, you might need to get an eliptical until next summer. You might find out that you don't mind the sweat that badly. I am starting to like it!
ReplyDeleteAw, Cece, I'm sorry you're losing your fave workot. Maybe the country club will take pity on you! I'm with Robyn, though try an elliptical. It's easy on the joints too...
ReplyDeleteI hate that you're losing your pool, I know how much you have been having success with that. I think you'll find that the sweat isn't as bad as all that. I actually love the sweat now. :)
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh I am sooo sorry you're losing your pool - You love it so much.. Maybe some yoga or pilates?? I have a few old tapes that I just love to use when I don't have the motivation to leave these four walls... I am sure there are better ones out there too...
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for a pool myself! hard to find (and to be affordable!)
ReplyDeleteI love love love swimming and I really would like to find an affordable option near me but I just haven't yet. It stinks because swimming is my favorite exercise!
ReplyDeleteIt sucks when you finally find a groove and something screws it up. You may want to check out Lifetime Fitness. You won't know how you'll like it until you go. When I joined LA Fitness, I was really nervous because I had heard it's a meat market and people only go to socialize, etc. etc. What I found couldn't be further from it.
ReplyDeleteIt stinks that your pool is closing when you found an exercise you like. Now that it's getting cooler, maybe try walking (or if you don't want to go outside try Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds...I used to do it a few years ago and it's a pretty good workout).
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
I hate this for you, I'm hopin' you find a place that will work for you. *hugs!*
