Sailing and the snacks that go with it

First off I feel like a kid.  I'm in my bedroom, on the bed, surfing the internet.  I love my bedroom ... I just don't spend much time here (except from 11pm to 7am).  I'm half tempted to go get a big cushy chair and put it in here but then I may never leave (p.s. I live alone so I don't exactly 'need my space').

Anyhoo.  The Sweetie has spent the entire summer working on his sailboat (which has not seen open water since we met - est. 9 years ago).  No one is allowed to blame me for what the Sweetie can and can't do ... I digress.

If the weather cooperates, tomorrow the boat goes in open water.  The challenge - bringing food for us and friends that help us with the boat.  Damn it.  I bought a box of low fat Wheat-Thins.  I'm no fan of low fat but they are the only ones that have no high fructose corn syrup.  I think this is the only think I will have to stay away from.  I did buy a cuc as this is what Shelly Eggface uses as a conveyance (cracker) for hummus.  Some cheese, low fat salami, nuts, hummus and Pringles *for others *.  Will probably stop for sub sandwiches in the morning ~ not for me. I did NOT buy Cheese-its (which were buy 1, get 1 free).  Cat, if you're not on vacation yet - I gave you a silent \nod as I walked by them. I used to always bring grapes but I think that might be a band no-no.

Hmmm ... maybe I am changing :)

  1. Oooh, sounds good Cece! I am a huge fan of the cucumber and hummus...yummo. And I've been having grapes as a snack and I have no problem with them, so if you eat them slowly and chewchewchew, you should be fine, I think? Have an amazing time on the boat! And good for you for walking past the cheeze-its! Woo hoo!

  2. grapes are on the no no list, but give 'em a try. I'm finally getting out of my weenie stage and trying some new stuff. Grapes are on my list for tomorrow. Carrots....well....they're not going to be on my list ever again! LOL

  6. Have you ever had the Glenny's soy crisps? They're not bad - high protein, low carb, and a good substitute for a cracker or a chip dipped in hummus or bean dip or salsa or a wedge of Laughing Cow Light cheese.
