Darn chips !

I have been struggling lately (in more than a few areas) and making some not great food choices (Pringles, fries).

The remarkable change is that I am eating these foods with some purpose. Not just mindless eating (i.e. NOT a  supersize fry or NOT the entire can of Pringles) - a small fry (logged) and 3 servings of Pringles (logged). And, I actually tasted the food.  I know.  Seems like I'm rationalizing. But I'm not - just posting that these are some baby steps that I'm taking.

Happy to be headed to the gym.

  1. My philosophy is you have to live with this band FOREVER. If you want to eat a small fry or pringles and you log the calories and are within your calorie count (or even not!) than that is your choice. There are many days I log my chocolate intake.....we have to be good 80 percent of the time. Being good always is not realistic. Part of this whole journey is being accountable.....which clearly you are! So for that I say YEAH! That is a huge step.

  2. We all have our struggles hun, very very normal. For myself personally I don't ban any type of food from my life I learn to enjoy it in moderation or tastes. However I realized over Christmas break and lately Ive been enjoying more than a taste and thats where I see a problem so you just work at it.
You logged it though, kudos to you on that!

  3. Just the fact that you are not eating these things in excess and/or mindlessly...this is a HUGE step lady!! I am very proud of you. We're almost at our six month bandaversary, band twin!! We can do this!

  4. It seems like when we are struggling in one area, eating increases.... At least we see what we are doing.
A small fry is not a bad thing if you are logging. Just go work it off at the gym.

  6. You'll get back on track. No worries there. I need to track what I'm eating.

  7. Don't be hard on my friend! She logged the calories and tasted the food, she's making great steps. :)

  8. You logged it, own up to you so there ya go. I think no one can say "I'm never having a (insert preferred snack choice here) again for the rest of my life!" It's just not realistic.

  9. Don't be too hard on yourself, a good workout will burn those extra calories. By the way love the heading of your blog "to thine own self be true" that was my school's motto.

  11. This is another of those 90/10 moments darlin. You have to have treats sometimes and if you logged them and enjoyed them then it's not like a binge or whatever. I'm proud of you!
