It's been almost a month since I started the pre-op diet and I've lost 20 lbs. The newbie loosing is (sadly) over ... yesterday's stats (according to my BodyMedia Fit):
Calories burned: 2611 (the most ever according to the Fit)
Steps: 5827 (the most ever according to the Fit)
Step on pedometer: 7782 (most since surgery)
Activity: 40 minutes
Food: popsicke - 20 cals
Protein shake - 250 cals
1/4 cup of killer chz and broc soup from grocery store - no cals available
2 tbs of hummus - 70 cals
Water - 56oz - not a very good day - I'm hoping I forgot to record a bottle
And the scales says: NO MOVEMENT !!! And actually, no movement since Monday morning (and Monday's calorie burned was 2601). Like I said, the newbie weight loss is over so I must remind myself: obesity was not built in a day :)
I have an appointment with the sleep doctor this morning. Just started wearing the CPAP machine again (since surgery). I will be happy when that albatross is no longer around my neck, er, I mean no longer around my nose.
The party, however, continues for Coco - queen of the chair and one-half.

Oh, look at the cute Coco!! I'm jealous of her chair and 1/2, I have always wanted one of those. They are so comfortable!
ReplyDeleteDon't get discouraged with your scale. I didn't even own a scale in the beginning right after I had surgery and I think it was better that way. The scale can be VERY frustrating. Just keep doing what you are doing, things will get better. :)
o what a cute kitty!
ReplyDeleteI miss the early weightloss when it was so easy!
My scale doesn't move until towards the end of the week. It is like my body holds onto every ounce of water and food it can before flushing it out. That is why I started weighing once a week. A lot less stress!
ReplyDeleteYep - I'm with Brenda, I weigh once a week only. It makes the up and down fluxuation a bit easier for me to deal with only seeing it once a week. It's almost always a down number for me.
ReplyDeleteBack when I used to weigh daily, I noticed that I would go several days with no loss then have a loss then stay the same for a few days...Don't worry about it and if it really starts bothering you then I echo the suggestion of weighing once a week.
ReplyDeleteYou might just going into a little plateau because your body is getting used to the liquids, I say ask your doc about introducing some more mushies!
ReplyDeleteI think your body stopped losing because now it is in starvation mode...You'll start losing when you can eat more again. XO
ReplyDeleteI reached a plateau around that time too - you'll begin losing again when you start upping your calories. Maybe not as fast, but the scale WILL move, I promise!!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing soooooo well, I'm sooo proud of YOU!
I experienced the exact same thing towards the beginning of mushies. You will start to see losses again once you can get your calories up a bit over a 1000 (on healthy food, not ice cream). Don't get frustrated (like I did). It is what our bodies do when they think the food is all gone.
ReplyDeleteHere's to us "curing" our sleep apneas! I wear mine faithfully, but wish I didn't have to!!
ReplyDeleteDon't get discouraged! The weight will keep falling off, trust me! I am stalled right now but I know it will pick up again!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree! I think you are probably getting in too few calories and your body is going into starvation mode. That happened to me too.
