Today, had grilled chz for b'fast, greek salad no beets (yes, pita) for lunch and then a carry out botana for dinner. There are no sweets in the condo and protein shakes are ready to go for tomorrow (soup/broth for lunch).
Last night, a g-friend came over and we hung at my condo pool until 10pm. That was nice ... I'm going to keep that up so that I'm not bothered by food (tv commercials, internet).
Spoke to my sister today (who just moved to Germany with my precious niece and nephew). I loved her living her in MI for the past few years - meeting my newphew on his second day, holidays, baking with my niece, birthdays, soccer games, etc. My plan is go visit in the fall.
Oh, I knew there was a rant in me somewhere. At work, I followed all of the rules and asked for time off giving (greater than) 30 days notice for this procedure. FML approved for "multiple surgeries". Found out yesterday who I was going to start showing a few things too during my absence. I was frank with him: My LOA is not public knowledge and I want to keep it that way.
Today, in the elevator (we were the only two), a manager said: are you on LOA? I was shocked and replied: I was off sick yesterday but am here today. Pregnant pause. I then said - I'll be on LOA starting end of next week. I didn't realize people knew. Her response: well, people don't but managers do (wth???). This particular manager and my department have almost nothing to do with each other ... I'm just annoyed .... I should have done what everyone else does ... simply not show up to work and deal with FML later ....
Oh, and I'm getting a new boss (and I'm not involved in the process). My old boss left last month (he was a good one .... but I was due a good boss ... lol). So, in addition to all of the random bs, I've had no boss, double the work and I can hardly wait for the line of up people asking me questions that are none of their business !! As Jerry Seinfeld said: People. They are the worst !
Wow ... starting this blog was a great idea .... all that ranting and with these fingers flying ... no food !
Off to the pool !

I get the getting sick of food thing you're going through, it's almost like, "Ok! I'm ready to get started now!"
ReplyDeleteAlso - my work is very similar, everyone knows if someone's going on LOA. I did it legal with my HR department, but I didn't tell my coworkers what I was doing. I just said I had family business to handle.
I actually told my boss I was going to Duke Uninversities Weight and Fitness Camp while I was off because I knew he would tell everyone. And guess what- everyone knows where I was..... I did not want people talking about my weight and how I had surgery. In last weeks Manager's Meeting he announced to the other managers how much weight I've lost (I told him because he asked me earlier in the week). Ugh- it was embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteI did fill out the proper papers with my HR department though but they are legally bond to not talk about it.
I really hate that I had to lie because now I can't tell anyone there if I wanted to. Oh well, too late to change things now.
Major chuckle over the "weight" jokes - GROAN!!!! I'm glad your friend stayed with you - friends are good for keeping us busy (especially when they're mooching the rest of the food we need to get out of the house!)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sorry to hear that you and your sister had a falling out, but happy to hear that you guys spoke - it's a good start!
And I do agree that blogging is a terrific way to "let it all out!" Better than the old way - with food!
Cece, I nominated you for the Adorable Blog Award. Check out the post at http://robynnest-robyn.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that puns are the lowest form of humor, but I can't HELP but love them! :)
ReplyDeleteGood job being at the pool and avoiding the late-night snacking... that's definitely my weakness.
