Now I know why no one blogs during post-op liquids. There is nothing to say !
I still haven't have the beloved tomato soup (opted for a protein shake instead thinking that protein would be better for me). Came across a recipe in LBT under the liquids section but I was wondering if you had an opinion on it. Would you consider this a liquid?
Crockpot Cream of Potato Soup
Bag of frozen hashbrowns (shredded)
Box of chicken stock
1/2 cup finely chopped onion (which I will skip because I don't like onions)
1 tea garlic
2 cups of creamy liquid (milk, evap milk, half n half) -- I'll be using skim milk.
Dump potatoes, garlic and chix (used to be a waitress) broth in crockpot. Set on low and cook for 5-6 hours. Once the potatoes are soft, turn off heat and add milk.
Using stick blender, blend soup until smooth.
Thanks for any thoughts, opinions, suggestions, etc !

I used my stick blender nearly every day while on liquids. I just blended smooth and then strained to make sure there weren't any chunks missed.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely is!
ReplyDeleteI lived on tomato soup for the first few weeks...it used to be my favorite soup. Now, not so much!!! I still resort to it after a fill!! That recipe sounds tasty, but I would def. make sure it's good and blended!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds absolutely yummo!! I've been eating lots of chunky style home made soups, just strain the big stuff out! And get that tomato soup!! You will love it right now - a true break from all the sweet stuff, shakes, yadda, yadda - I LIVE for my V8's!
ReplyDeleteDoing good, Lady - Doing GOOD!!
I blended lots of chunky things-then added some stock if it was too thick-Yum, it kept things interesting. Glad you are feeling well:)
ReplyDeleteI vote for it being a liquid as long as it isn't too thick. It will definately help to keep from getting bored with all the protein shakes.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling so well!!
I have an unflavored protein powder that I would add to the tomato soup, so I killed two birds with one stone. So good!
